After the Light of the Sun helps the seedlings of the Spring grow and strengthen, the harvest of our bounty is upon us.

Virgo represents this transition from growth into maturity. After the fun and excitement of Leo, Virgo brings us back down to earth and reminds us that there’s still a reality to deal with, and that the practical details of life don’t go away just because we’d rather be having fun.

Systems and processes are important aspects of the Virgo way of going about things. Virgo energy tends to be very organized, and even if that organization isn’t physically expressed, it’s usually pretty astonishing how organized the minds and thoughts of Virgo energy people are. Virgo also seems to indicate an incredible wealth of practical knowledge, which serves people with strong Virgo energy well in getting things done and providing for themselves.

If we consider that Taurus represents what has us feel comfortable and secure in our lives, Virgo would be how we go about bringing those security elements into our lives through our everyday activities. Virgo is the practical application of the information we learn and know in our everyday lives, and it is how we apply that knowledge to make tangible progress in our lives.

So what does all of that have to do with reaping our harvest?

The seeds we planted in the spring during the time of Aries are now coming to fruition. We have the opportunity to see what is showing up in our lives, as well as what has failed to show up in our lives. It’s our chance to see just how healthy our thoughts and actions really have been (and maybe still are), as we now reap what we have sown.

This month we have a New Moon in Virgo on September 9, 2016.

The astrological pictures for this month start off with the New Moon in Virgo (September 9), which planted the “seeds” of a power-packed month to come. And that promise has been more than fulfilled as we fast approach this Full Moon in 22 degrees of Pisces on September 16th… …the Autumn Equinox on September 22nd, 2016.

The New Moon in Virgo symbolise “separating the wheat from the chaff”. This is a month to be particularly discriminating about what ideas, information, and values you allow into your life, for Virgo is a very practical sign. The Autumn Equinox is the exact moment when the Sun enters 0 degrees Libra denoting a time of cosmic balance and harmony. This has been celebrated since the dawn of mankind as the “balancing of the polarities of male and female”; yin and yang, darkness and light.

In shamanic and earth based cultures all over the planet, this day was (and is, for many still) commemorated as a major turning point of the year (equinoxes and solstices) and sacred rituals for fertility and abundance are celebrated.

Take the time today to tell your spouse, friend, lover, child or parent how much you appreciate and love them. Buy yourself some flowers….adopt a pet…or donate to a shelter…open your heart to Love……giving and receiving is a delicate balance and does require some practice and lots of patience.

Don’t be hard or critical of yourself if you are “alone” and not with a partner at this time. All living things feel love. Lavish your love generously to nature, to God, to children, animals…..to those who have less than you. In no time, your heart will beat to a different drummer, and the Love of your life will hear its call.

If you don’t have a “special” place or altar in which to do your meditations or journal work, it is very easy to create a ‘sacred space” in your life. Take one corner of a room, preferably quiet, with no computers or TV nearby, as your space. You can place a small plant there, crystals, sacred stones, special “keepsakes”, whatever you like. The idea is to make it “yours”, and even by just standing or sitting there, you immediately remember and feel your connection to Spirit and to Mother Earth. The rest will just “flow”…no judgement…just “be”!

CANCER

Dear Cancer, circumstances and general disorganization within your home can cause stress in September. Things will tend to break down and go wrong, and so make sure your household insurance is up to date and check your cover.

Issues to do with your parents may crop up unexpectedly as well and cause you some anxiety. Something unpleasant from the past may surface and have to be dealt with again. I think it is safe to say that all families have their share of secrets or even skeletons in the closet, and this is a month when those issues will resurface. It is best to deal with things calmly – so do not freak out, it is not as bad as it seems and can be remedied with some common sense. It is best in September to keep certain things to yourself or between you and your close family – resist the temptation to chat about personal issues to those you do not know well. Trust sparingly!

In September home life will be rather hectic, even more so if you work from home. If you can plan ahead, do not leave yourself too many deadlines to meet in September as you will have less time than you anticipate. You may begin to think about moving home or making some changes to your home to make life easier.

Cancer, in September communicating with your partner about issues to do with your home and your respective families is very important. Make sure that you are listening to each other and actually exchanging thoughts not just empty words. Do not put anything off, speak up now. We all tend to put off what we fear talking about, but events in September will force the issue.

As I mentioned before, this is an outstanding period for Geminis who write speeches, edit publications, write investigative journalism or do research as your ability to sort the wheat from the chaff and then communicate what you find in an insightful, impactful way is excellent.

Timing is also very important in your career – do not expect everything to be linear. Your strategy should be to push forward, then pause, re-evaluate, alter course slightly and push forward again. Be very alert to what is going on with colleagues and competitors, and do not play your hand too soon, be a dark horse and do not act in isolation – keep watching what others are doing and learning from their mistakes.

Geminis are indeed always clever with words, but in September this ability is even more pronounced and can be used very effectively in sales, negotiations and getting to the bottom of complicated matters.

LEO

Mentally astute, this is a good month for auditors, detectives and anyone in a line of work where investigation is undertaken. A productive month for researchers and analysts. If you are working on a project requiring intense concentration and an eye for detail, you can be very successful.

As I said in the first paragraph, you need to be politically and economically aware right now as changes in wider politico/socio circles will impact your work life – they may even present opportunities. Ask yourself, is there a new service you can provide to assist people with a new problem or issue that has arisen as a result of these socio/political factors? Is this the right time to change career or job to get in a better position, bearing in mind economic changes?

There may be some financial uncertainty in the markets right now, and so this is not a good time to invest. Be careful to whom you delegate work, and play your cards very close to your chest when it comes to letting the competition know what you are doing.

In September, as an employee, do be careful whom you trust in the workplace.

Dear Libra, expect the unexpected in September – this can be a hectic and surprising month for you. You are set to be very busy, and things will not always run according to plan.
