How To Use Mercury Retrograde Positively
Mercury moves retrograde three to four times every year (on average) for about three weeks at a time. This is a time when you can catch up with all the little details that have been scattered in your life. In essence when you are in touch with the heavens you will go with the flow of life and learn how to listen to the messages from the planets.
Mercury will cross Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth, on the New Moon, December 5th. There could be jealousy, arguments, transportation problems, and especially computer problems beginning then. Then from the last day of Hanukkah, December 9th, through December 14th, Mercury, Pluto, and Mars will all move to an exact conjunction! Mercury rules communication, transportation, and short trips. Pluto governs passion, criminal behaviour, and transformation. Then add Mars, the warrior, who represents sex, energy, and fights! There could be all kinds of mishaps, misfortunes, and misunderstandings, especially on Monday December 13th.
Once Mercury, Pluto, and Mars begin to separate, and Mercury gets moving along his backward path (around December 15th), we should see the typical Mercury retrograde behaviour. An old friend may call, or we may find ourselves digging out old boxes of stuff and sorting through them. Leave extra time for travel, and make sure important files on the computer are backed up.
There could be a second Mercury retrograde flare-up around December 20th and 21st. Mercury will be at negative aspects to Uranus and Jupiter while we have a Full Moon lunar eclipse. There could be a lot of misunderstandings and just plain selfish decisions in the air, and the eclipse will be amplifying them.
Mercury will turn direct on December 30th (29th in some areas), and luckily, we should find this transition almost uneventful.Mercury’s retrograde path will begin at 5 degrees 56 minutes Capricorn, and will end at 19 degrees 39 minutes Sagittarius. If you have any inner planets (Sun through Mars) or any power points on your natal chart in Mercury’s path, you may want to consult an astrologer for more information
The message from this Mercury retrograde is: Do not start additional projects; complete what you have been working on for the past three months. Also it is not the best time to purchase anything new or major; use what you have, repair or get rid of items in your home and office that no longer work or no longer are useful to your present needs – so some serious space clearing.
On a personal level it is important to ask: Where in your life do you side step issues because you want everything to be fine with no problems versus getting real about a problem and working hard at it?
Are you afraid of saying the truth for fear of not looking good? Critical thinking is necessary to understand the nature of your relationships and to have people in your life that are right for you.
There are action steps to take for this Mercury retrograde. First and foremost is to catch up on loose ends, projects or promises that will help you achieve the goals you have. Think about how you communicate with people you are in partnerships with. What is working in those partnerships and what is not quite right?
How can you have partnerships that are fair and balanced? Do you have that balance in your life? Are you fair to yourself when you talk to yourself and your mind is assessing all that you have done, want to do, and think you are supposed to do?
Are you managing your life productively? Mercury retrograde helps you to understand these ancient and time tested principles of stepping back, taking a deep breath, and being honest about what you need to do or what areas you need to focus on.
If you are in any doubt, allow me to remote view into your life and reveal what is unseen for a clear and definite plan for the next few weeks.
